ARIEL THE RAY

I enjoy making Ghost Net sculptures to raise awareness about the dangers of Ghost nets and ocean pollution. I hope it inspires people to create something with whatever marine debris they find on the beach or in the ocean. We all have the duty of care to protect the ocean and the environment around us, for our children and their children. One piece of artwork is one piece of abandon net that’s not floating in the ocean killing many marine species. The Eagle ray is a totem to many Torres Strait Tribal groups. The colours and patterns I use on my artworks are the colours and patterns I see in and around the ocean. Patterns of the corals, the sand line, the waves and how the tide moves.
