painting about Jowurubanj a Dreaming place for babies.An old man’s wife had given birth to a baby,and she left it (baby) near a paper-bark tree by the waterhole,so she can go look for sugar-bag (bush honey).her husband told her not to leave the baby near that waterhole,but she told him she was going to be quick.but while she was away the water-snake from that waterhole came out and took the baby.this place is near Bedford Downs Station,on the west side..Legend goes that if a woman wants a baby,she can go and swim in this waterhole.

Biography:

Helen has just recently started painting at the Warmun Art Centre. She grew up on Bedford Downs station and never went to school. She trained in housework at the station house. Helen was a stock camp cook for many years. She moved to Turkey Creek for her children's education. She has worked at the school and at the Mirrilingki Spirituality Centre. She is involved in culture and has eight childern and eleven grandchildren.
