This painting represents fire flies, and old story passed down to Anita by her mother. It is an very very old story that Anita describes as “the lights you see at night, not stars but insects, they move around your head and have long long light follow by short lights”
These insects are said to transverse into the spirit world as well as the human world and can pass on messages between the two such as alerting you if someone has been lost in the bush.
