Biography:

I was born in Wirnpa and lived there with my family until I was about six years of age. At that time we were picked up in Kudarra by a welfare agent and two blackfellas. The welfare picked up all of the remaining families in the area, including the Judson, Nixon, Goodwin and Biddle families. They took everyone to a baru [windmill] and gave everyone needles and clothes. Then they took everyone to Jigalong, a long way from Fitzroy Crossing. We set up camp in Jigalong for a longtime and went to school there.

In 1976, I arrived in Fitzroy Crossing. I married and later separated from Deloris Mathews. We had three children called Eric, Martina and Stephanie. In 2002, I married Elsie Pindan and we live together in Bawoorrooga.

I started painting in 2007 at Mangkaja. I paint Imeri jila [permanent waterhole] at Kudarra and the Dreamtime snake that lives there.
