Biography:

I’m interested in learning different styles of painting. My interest began when I would watch my grandmother, Gloria Petyarre paint her traditional dot paintings of bush flowers and bush medicine. My cousin, Eric Inkamala, was a sketch artist of comics and superheroes which got me inspired to start sketching.

When I paint and draw, I often start by looking back in history for inspiration. For example, I look at Soldiers, Warriors, Spartans and Aphrodite as they symbolise strength and courage.

These great warriors make me reflect on my people, who I see as the great warriors and dream time gods of my country. I want to bring them into the todays modern world that we live in, in honour of them and of the generation that now follows in their footsteps. I depict my people, men and women, living in a kingdom as powerful warriors, sorcerers, witch doctors and wizards. For example, you can see I depict the dream story of the Seven Sisters as witches as this is how I imagine them to be.

In my spare time I enjoy watching my favourite TV show Ink masters, and reading marvel comics which I find inspires my artwork.
