Biography:
Madeline Sandy, is daughter of Yinjaa-Barni artist Wendy Darby. Through her mother she is Martu mob from Western Desert and she is Yindjibarndi through her fathers side. Madeline was born in Hedland and grew up in Roebourne.
Madeline enjoys painting the gum trees because it reminds her of spending time with her old people. She uses branches and leaves from the local trees to create a pattern that she can then dot in her design. She also enjoys painting landscapes.

Pilbara Wildflowers amongst the Mist and Spinifex (Marlene) These are the beautiful wildflowers that grow in my country. They grow amongst the spinifex and bloom at all different times of the year.
Wet Season Wet season in the Pilbara fills all the lovely creeks and the rivers flow. It’s a lovely time of the year.
