Biography:
Joanne Willis is the daughter of well-known Yinjaa-Barni artist, Allery Sandy. Joanne was born and grew up in Roebourne. She would travel out bush with family, going fishing, hunting and learning from the old people.
Joanne was inspired to begin painting from watching her three mothers paint. She likes to paint the ochre colours that remind her of Country, waterholes and wildflowers of her Country.
Joanne has 4 children and 2 grandchildren. She lives in Roebourne with her family.
