Name: Cheyenne Phillips
Language: Yindjibarndi
Biography:
Cheyenne Phillips was born in Wickham Hospital in the Pilbara region of Western Australia in 1999. I am the second eldest child to Sheryl Hicks and father Brian Phillips. She has three sisters and three brothers. She is a Ngarluma & Yindjibarndi woman indigenous to the Pilbara region. Cheyenne has lived all over the place from the city to small mining towns before moving back home to the heart of the Pilbara in Roebourne and Karratha.
Cheyenne began painting in 2018, following in the footsteps of her mum and grandmothers (Allery & Aileen Sandy). She really enjoys capturing the differences of the Country in the Pilbara as well as the beauty it holds, especially when the seasons change. She has developed her own unique style whilst still experimenting with different ways of representing the beauty of her Country.
In 2022 Cheyenne moved to Belgium with her husband and two children to meet his family and experience his culture. She now lives and paints in Belgium with her family.
