Biography:
Lizzie Trew is a Pitjantjatjara emerging artist based in Mparntwe (Alice Springs). Lizzie’s primary medium is painting, though her practice is multidisciplinary, encompassing 3-Dimensional sculptures out of paper pulp, ceramics, digital arts, and drawing.
Lizzie paints from memory and imagination; ‘I remember and imagine things, and then I paint them. When I imagine something, I make it real.’ She often paints aliens, planets, motor cars, disco balls, people, and wolves. Lizzie’s work is bold, humorous, colorful, and playful.
Lizzie has been exhibiting locally since 2021. A highlight has been having her work in an exhibition at Watch This Space called ‘This is a sand dune or another planet or whatever’.
