Biography:

The late Angelina was an award winning contemporary Indigenous artist whose paintings are explorations of landscape, reflecting space and structure of her country. Angelina grew up in Roper River country, attending the mission school, where she first began to draw in coloured chalks on slate. Angelina’s final works are represented in Djilpin’s permanent collections and in textiles. She won the 2007 NATSIAAA art award in the open painting category and her work was highly commended in the 2008 Awards. Angelina also features in the award winning documentary Yellow Fella by Ivan Sen (SBSTV, Cannes Film Festival 2005).
