Name: Leah-Anne Campion

Language: Rembarrnga, Gunnai

Biography:

Leah-Anne cultured her creative sprit by observing artistic family members, and then practising what she observed. She attributes her skills of weaving to her Auntie, Raark (fine line painting) to her Father, colour harvesting and bush string to her stepmother. She is proud of this learning while being "grown up" by many people, which is reflected in her skill and confidence to create artistically beautiful pieces.

Leah-Anne experiments with bush string (created from Jutba, Nowerlap and Anbutbut), paperbark, pandanus and Manjok (stringybark). She is Djungai for her partner and mothers dreaming of Yok (Bandicoot) & Spider, while her own dreaming is Whyadda (a cheeky spirit figure), Shark, Melemele (butterfly), Caterpillar & Olive Python
