Biography:
My name is Michael Hamlyn, people call me by my nickname Hamo.
I was born in Mooroopna, next to Shepparton, Victoria in 1965.
I am a very proud Bangarang Man.
I love painting things, I have seen. This means a lot to me as it's keeping my culture alive for the next generation, including my Grand Children.
‘Lands’ This small artwork represents the lands and waters that make up our country. The colourful textured background symbolises the imperfections in nature, but despite its imperfections it is still beautiful.
Hand Carved Clapsticks #5 These clapsticks have been hand carved out of river red gum collected on Yorta Yorta Country. Traditionally clapsticks have been used as part of our ceremonies and corroborees.
