Biography:
Tina King was raised on the Lands of the Wadawurrung people and currently resides on the lands of the Yorta Yorta Nations.
She is influenced by her father's mobs Lands and surrounding waters on which she is now raising her own family, with her extended family, the Elders, Community, Auntys and children.
Tina's art is influenced by her surroundings, the animals, nature and the waterways.
‘Lands’ This small artwork represents the lands and waters that make up our country. The colourful textured background symbolises the imperfections in nature, but despite its imperfections it is still beautiful.
Hand Carved Clapsticks #5 These clapsticks have been hand carved out of river red gum collected on Yorta Yorta Country. Traditionally clapsticks have been used as part of our ceremonies and corroborees.
