Wilima – Middle

This painting tells the story of where I’m at in life right now -my journey, my spirit, and my deep connection to Country and community. I’m a Wiradjuri woman, and every line, every dot holds meaning.

The long flowing lines show the path I travel each week -moving across Country for work that fills my heart. It’s tiring, but it’s also healing. I feel strong in what I’m doing. One big circle of lines represents Wagga Wagga, on Wiradjuri Country -where I’ve found deep friendships, support, and a second home. The other circle is my family, my first home -the place I return to every week, where I feel grounded and held.

The lines in between are my journey -the in-between space that carries me back and forth, always moving but always connected. the dot work surrounding it all holds the “why” -the stories, the people, the children, my culture. It’s what keeps me going.

This artwork is about living between two sacred places. Both are home. Both are part of me. It’s about honouring the path I’m walking, even when I’m tired -because I’m walking it with purpose, with pride, and with love for my people and our ways.
