The Kingfisher, known as Yindili in Kuku Yalanji language, is according to our culture one of the significant messenger birds. The Kingfisher will let us know when to expect a visit from families living in another community, And when we see a Kingfisher close by, we know that something good will soon happen in our personal life.

Biography:
My name is Greg Salt, I started painting when I was very young and have continued to paint throughout my life. I also do wood carving and make 3D objects that are cast in Bronze.
I work four days per week at Yalanji Arts and I `am keen to continue developing my art making skills. I have taken part in many workshops including printmaking, ceramics and textiles.
My artwork is inspired by stories told by my Elders and has been exhibited at various exhibitions since 2011.
