Yindili

My painting is about the female Yindili, Kingfisher. She is in love and seeking material fortune, she forgets what her natural path is. She is lost in the process and found all over again.

Tested by temptation, it is all around us. We seem to forget what we do have and are blind to the natural beauty that is life. Imagination and creation are the things we want to grasp but we do not appreciate it as it is. May we ever get the chance to see her fly.

Biography:

I grew up mostly in Sydney, but during holidays I would make my way back to my mother's country, Wujal Wujal to visit family whenever I could.  Recently, I decided to move back to Wujal Wujal.

My grandfather Mario Williams helped to set up Bana Yirriji Art Centre.  I wanted to express my art and this is the right place for me.

I am also interest in all mediums of art including music, performance, design,  painting, drawing, carving and installation. I'm always happy to have a go at trying new things.
