My painting is about Ngawiya, sea turtle.
Our families have made camps down the beach all my life. It started with my parents and grandparents taking me camping as a young child.
Now I am older, and have a large family I take my grandkids and great grandkids down the beach to camp, make a big fire, wait for my family to bring turtle they caught in the boat, cook them up and have a good feed with the whole family.

Biography:
I was born in Mossman. My mother’s people come from the Kuku Nyungkul clan of the Shipton Flat/Helenvale area. My father belongs to the Kaanju tribe of Coen.
I have been making art for a few years now and love bright colours as they make me feel happy. I paint, print, make jewellery and love all textile art.
I have a large family, 4 children, 3 step-children, 21 grand kids and 39 great grand kids.
I love going out with the family to the beach hunting for food and having a fire with damper.

Dikal, Bird There are many Dikal’s living on our bubu, country. I love camping with my families, anywhere, down the beach or at the river and listening to the Dikal’s singing.
