Kurranji, Cassowary
When I was a young kid, we would travel from Mossman to Cape Trip looking for Kurranji eggs. This was back in the old days when all the roads were dirt and no-one was around. There were a lot of Kurranji around then.

Biography:
I was born in Mossman. My mother’s people come from the Kuku Nyungkul clan of the Shipton Flat/Helenvale area. My father belongs to the Kaanju tribe of Coen.
I have been making art for a few years now and love bright colours as they make me feel happy. I paint, print, make jewellery and love all textile art.
I have a large family, 4 children, 3 step-children, 21 grand kids and 39 great grand kids.
I love going out with the family to the beach hunting for food and having a fire with damper.
