Biography:
I was born in Ballarat and spent my childhood living around Western Victoria.
Aboriginality wasn’t really talked about in my family, but when I worked for the local Aboriginal Cooperative (BADAC) for ten years, I had the opportunity to learn more about my Aboriginality.
I enjoy weaving and doing silk paintings, and learnt a lot about this after doing a course in material studies.
My favourite medium is weaving. When I weave I feel it gives me a connection to my culture, and I was surprised how easily I picked up the craft.
When I weave it leads me. I never know how a piece will look until it is finished. I feel like what I create is manifested within me.
