Summer skies, Cockatoo song

This piece reminds me of the soft glow of summer evenings. The cockatoo feathers are a reminder of the guardians of the garden, with their calls filling the air, their presence grounding us to country.

Biography:

I was born in Ballarat, although I was aware I was Aboriginal, I did not get an understanding of cultural practices, and they were not handed down.

As I got older, and had my own children, I began to discover more about my culture and love to teach my children about their Aboriginal heritage.

I thrive in creating artwork. It gives me a sense of connection and healing to my past, present and culture.
