Biography:
I am a proud Wadawurrung Woman, My name is Lynette Clayton, for my Art purposes I use my Maiden name Fagan ie Lynette Fagan.
I am 4th generation Wadawurrung first nations Aboriginal from Apical Ancestor John Robinson/Robertson via the Dalton line.
I am a self taught Aboriginal Artist and first picked up a paint brush in November 2021 and since then I have been successful in multiple exhibitions including Knuldoororng for each year during NAIDOC week since 2021. I have completed a commission in 2022 which is now hung in Greys Beach New Zealand in the heif and Majors building.
I have a pyrography decorated skateboard that was sold and now resides in Budapest. I have completed a commission for Anglicare Victoria, held Gallery positions in Bendigo's first Aboriginal Art Gallery a few times since it opened at Djaa Djuwima First for theme Connection to Dja Dja Wurrung which ran for 6 months. Currently one called Fibre which is another 6 month exhibition and a few shorter ones.
I am participated in Wadawurrung Art Hub opening Sept 2024 and sell Paintings, keyrings and other items.
I had my first Bronze sculpture piece Porronggitj erected at Sovereign Hill September 2024.
My style is flexible and I use multiple mediums as my skills have grown.
I love to challenge myself and grow as an Artist, however majority of my style is modern meets traditional First Peoples Art style with some realistic aspects to make my Art connect with all people as I share a story.
