This painting depicts Dhanbaniny (King Brown Snake). This is a Dhuwa dreaming and is the totem for Borruwa and her two sisters Burruna and Djampalil. Dhanbaniny can be found across the dry landscapes of NE Arnhem Land particularly during the dry season.

Joy is one of eight children from one of the first recognised female painters in Ramingining. She has recently started to come and paint at the art centre, however she watched and practiced with her Mum since she was a young child.
