Biography:
Kerri Atkinson is a proud Yorta Yorta woman. She was born in Shepparton and grew up in neighboring Mooroopna, Cummera and Euchuca. She has always had a strong interest in art and Country since a young age having been taught by her Elders. She works across a range of media including acrylIc, ceramics, weaving, wood burning to name a few. Her paintings are based on a range of themes including the spiritual in art and women's issues around empowerment. Kerri holds a Certificate II in Aboriginal & Torres Straight Islander Cultural Arts & Certificate III in Visual Arts. While studying she has also engaged in her community by mentoring students and contributing to a mural painted at GOTAFE Shepparton.
