Badurru (Milky Way)

Baḏurru (Milky Way) dhäwu (story) is a significant creation story for the Ḻiyagalawumirr people. It is an account of two spirit beings in the form of miyalk (female) native cats (quolls) who attacked their husband, a glider possum. The glider possum, along with his tribesmen, attacked the native cats, spearing them to their death. The spirits of the native cats left their bodies and took form of goya (fish) in a nearby stream. The glider possums tribes men captured and ate the goya using a batjbarra (traditional fishtrap), discarding of their bones on the ground around them. In order to send the souls of the spirit beings off peacefully, Wäk (crow man) gathered the goya remains and placed them into the dupun (hollow log) before performing Baḏurru buŋngul (dance). At the completion of the buŋgul, Wäk and his tribesmen carried the dupun in to the sky where they scattered the bones of the spirit beings across the heavens, forming the creation of the Milky Way. The black hole on the dupun represents the black void beside the Milky Way, in which the dupun entered heavens.

Romeo is a very early career artist who has spent time learning how to paint from the Elders in his family. He is also the lead singer of the Arafura Swap Band.

"I never learn to break in any property in my life, I never sniffed patrol, I never learn smoking cigarettes, but I only give it a try when i'am drunk, I did learn drinking alcohol, I never murder person, because I love and respect people black and white, because you are the same human being as i'am..

I learn good ways both Yolngu Ga Balanda, but I step walk slowly through the path of my journey to the future,

not even a well educated qualified person but I can speak, read and write..

I learnt to look after my community and my people, i'am a shy person but brave enough to stand and for my rights, l live not to involve any other person's problem, I respect and love many different races, tribe and languages,

My dream was being a musician, i'am a singer and a songwriter,, young music leader for my Yellow nation Band and for my community,,
Also a Dancer and a painter,,
my dream because reality of being a musician,
Because I grew up listening to music around me since I was a kid..,,
