Athiew Marriel – 2

Athiew Marriel reflects on the spirits of our totems. This identifies each tribe’s totem that represents them. We give thanks to them when we hunt and gather food. We also give thanks to protect them and country from foreign and domestic intruders. This is how our ancestors survived, through storytelling. Our legends live on through our children, til this day. This Athiew Marriel (totems spirit) also teaches us to respect the values of  of our land, sky sea, the teaching of elderley people that was very powerful, ” If you disobey the lore, you are accountable for your actions.”

They stole our identity, transformed us, gave us the Book to reform us. In that book was, I quote, ‘Thou shall not steal”.
