A story about a man who worked hard to provide for his family and extended family by cutting wood with his saw in the bush and isolated properties. He would sell it to local townspeople. Sometimes would provide for his local aboriginal community. He would always have family to help him in case of accidents in isolated areas. Coal briquettes put him out of business. He worked wherever he could after that. Manager of an orchard at Shepp East, Orvale, carting hay, picking cherries, manager of 1st boys hostel Syd NSW

Biography:

I was born in Mooroopna Victoria, and I am a proud Yorta Yorta - Wurundjeri woman. I grew up in Shepparton, where I attended school up until, my teen years.

I went to Melbourne and worked as a telephonist, then went to Sydney NSW and work for the Aboriginal medical service for 40 years then returned home to Shepparton.

I joined Kaiela Arts and I then realised my hidden feelings I had in art and the memories of my childhood. I do love working with the other Elders and exchanging stories, I think it’s important we pass our stories onto the younger generations.
