Coming together as one allows us to share our stories, traditions, and knowledge, ensuring the preservation and continuation of our cultural traditions. It’s a powerful expression of resilience, identity, and the collective strength that comes from supporting and uplifting one another.

Biography:

Ally is a proud Yorta Yorta, Dja Dja Wurrung and Kamilaroi woman from Shepparton. Since having her son, Ally discovered her love and passion for weaving; having been taught by fellow Kaiela artist Suzanne Atkinson.

Ally creates a variety of items including wall hangings, bowls and jewellery and has started her own business, Mulana Earth. She loves using natural materials from the land and experimenting with new and different techniques and styles in art making including ceramics, painting and screen printing. Ally works at Kaiela Arts as the Galnyatj Education and Culture Coordinator, where she leads ceramics, drawing and painting workshops, offering students and teachers opportunities to experience and learn about local Aboriginal stories, culture and history through art making and yarning.

Ally exhibited a wall-hanging piece in Kaiela Arts For Our Elders exhibition, 2023.
