Bush Flowers – Theresa Ngwarraye Morton

When I go hunting in my country I see flowers blooming everywhere, on the ground and in the trees.

I take my grandchildren out bush and show them where to find bush banana and bush berries.  After the big rain we go swimming down the creeks.

In cold time we make medicines out of some plants, I know where bush medicine grows.  We collect the leaves and grind them up with stones, then boil them.

When I paint I think about those bush trips and being with my family.
