“I work at the school and have lived here all my life. I have four children — my oldest will be 31 this year (2025). I love it there because I want to help the kids, because the kids are our future — the future generation for our community. Through painting, I’m learning how to represent each language group in the community.
I am currently enrolled in training to be a language teacher at the school. Hopefully, I can teach language again in the school.
I love painting and doing art. I’m self-taught, I suppose — I’ve always loved doing art. It makes me feel good and at peace. My aunty and my sister used to paint — they were famous artists. I get inspiration from them. My aunty, Honey Child, used to paint for Mangkaja Arts.”
