Kelvin Kemarre Ladd – Backhoes Taking the Cars to the Dump

I love to watch the everyday things that happen in my community like the cars being taken up to the tip, the work being watched by people in the community and their dogs by their side. I like to tell the story of of how my life is.

Name: Kelvin Kemarre Ladd

Language: Alyawarre

Community: Ampilatwatja

Biography:

I was born in Ali Curung,  but I call Epenarra my home.  I like country music, and stock camp paintings.  It's the life that I grew up around.  During the time I was growing up I was in a stock camp.  I used to watch the old fellas mustering and breaking in horses.   It was a great upbringing, disciplined and with strong family connections.  Hunting was the most important thing and we had to hunt to provide for our families.  There was no technology in those times.
