Trees at Talaalpi Fabric – Silver and Blue on Teal (Silk) 50cm

This design by Alice Nampitjinpa Dixon depicts the trees in Alice’s country, Talaalpi. Her country is situated close to Kintore on the Western Australian border. She grew up there and moved to Haasts Bluff later in life.

This fabric has been screen printed by hand by Publisher Textiles and Papers, ensuring the highest quality and longevity.

Princess Silk (Dupion)

100% Silk M/Woven 120 reed Dupion 137cm (highest quality weave)

Princess Silk is of the highest quality silks, with 120 reed woven Dupion. Dupion fabric is tightly woven with different sized weft and warp threads which gives it a textured appearance and highly-lustrous surface. The fibres are yarn dyed separately and then machine woven to make the fabric. Many colours are yarn dyed woven with different coloured warp and weft threads, giving an iridescent look.

Recommended care instructions: always dry clean for silk Dupion. Hand washing the fabric will cause it too loose that stiffness or crispness to the fabric.

Papa Tjukurrpa – Ingrid Top

This story is of the Papa Tjukurrpa – Dog Dreaming, which is the story of the artist’s father. It is of Niyuman, east of Kintore and it is secret men’s business.

Designed with comfort in mind this loose fit t-shirt features three quarter length bat-wing sleeves and long waistline. Perfect with jeans or shorts, comfortable and stylish enough for everyday wear.

Kuruyultu – Doris Day Dress

This Dress is now available in limited stock.

This 1960s inspired shift dress is an easy to wear, comfortable every day dress featuring ‘Kuruyultu’ design by Eunice Napanangka Jack. In this design, Eunice depicts her father’s country at Kuruyultu, in Western Australia.
“This is my country. My grandfather speared a wallaby at Kuruyultu. That night he ate that wallaby. At the same time my mother could feel me moving inside her. That next morning I was born.
I was born at Kuruyultu, near the Rockhole there… we had to leave that place (due to food shortages). My father, my mother, my extedned family, we all left together and went to Haasts Bluff. I have been back to Kuruyultu for visits but never lived there again in my country. I think about it everyday.”

This flattering A-line shape finishes just above the knee and features mid length sleeves and two scoop side pockets.

This dress is available in very limited quantities.

Treat this handmade garment with love and it will love you back! Cold machine wash, drip dry in shade, warm iron. Avoid the tumble dryer and dry cleaner.

Being handmade there may be some print variations, making each garment unique.

Watiya Tjuta Fabric – Copper on Petrol (Silk) 50cm

In this design Mitjili Napurrula depicts her fathers Tjukurrpa, the ceremonial spear straightening in Uwalkari country (Gibson desert region). The Watiya Tjuta (Acacia Trees) are the trees that are used to make these spears. Uwalkari country is abundant with Watiya Tjuta, as well as sand hills and other plants. Mitjili paints the motif of the Watiya Tjuta, carrying on the recurring motif as her mother used to draw in the sand. Her mother passed on this Dreaming to her.
