Woven Earrings Bana Yirriji Art Centre represents artists from the Yalanji, Nyungkul and Jalunji clan groups. These earrings have been woven using collected and found materials. Each pair are different creating different shapes and patterns that represents the artists totem’s and connection to country, making each set individual.

Painted Driftwood These pieces of driftwood were collected by the artist, on country, at the local beach, Weary Bay. Each one is hand painted and reflects the artists culture and stories, which makes each one unique and individual.
Kiju – Crab Kiju (mud crab) is very good eating. I have been hunting kiju with my family all my life. We make a fire on the beach and wait for it to die down and then cook the kiju on the coals. In my culture, we leave the shell where we catch the kiju so Read more…
Baral – Tracks Our bubu (country) is like a storybook. Baral (tracks) tell you what animal is travelling around. Some of the tracks we see are from the kurriyala (snake), walkarr (lizard) and kadar (wallaby). We can track the animals we hunt by following their tracks.
