Partinturla (magpie-lark) Partinturla-la arna urrknganga antjua mpaarama. The magpie-lark uses mud to build a nest.

Eelbitania (Rabbit) Eelbitania were introduced in the Early Days, after white people came to Central Australia. Today we find Eelbitania everywhere in Hermannsburg Region – they’re both a pest to the Country, and also good tucker.

Ngapa (Crow) Thepa ngapa ura kwaarta aramala, era pitjima. Crows come when they see smoke.

Wangkara (Pacific black duck) This one is Central Desert duck, but they living everywhere in Australia. It’s meat for us Western Aranda people. It’s in nesting time for them. They mother teach the little babies to get food, fish, maybe frog, I don’t know what they eat!
