This print illustrates the shadow of our Totems, that are still with us. The shadow images reflect on our past, that they were once legends in our society before we were discovered. This image also identified us that which tribe we’re from and which clan we represent. Our forefathers use these Totems to guide and protected them, also to hunt gather to survive.

Coral Bonau 1 of 7

The artwork titled “Coral Bonau” is about how our sea tide gets low and goes out and it leaves us with little pools off water holes which would trap fishes that get stuck in these littles pool holes and sometimes we would go fishing in these little water holes and catch some fishes.

Mekai is known as almond in Kala Kawaw Ya dialect. It is a food source and also good for medicine.
