Langkwa (Bush Banana)

Langkwa (bush bananas) are a popular bush tucker in Central Australia. The banana vine grows by winding up other trees or along the ground. The leaves and flowers are edible and the white fibre of the fruit has a mild flavour, described by some as tasting like a snowpea.

Splendid Fairy-wren (Blue Wren)

While Splendid Fairy-wrens stand out brilliantly from the regular browns and blacks of many backyard birds, they’re quite shy and tricky to spot. As they venture out of their homes for food, they move very quickly.

You can spot them zipping out of the canopy like little rockets. When foraging on the ground, they quickly hop in large bounds.

You can often spot members of these flocks roosting on a tree branch and nestled up together. They also preen each other.

Twinnies Go Fishing!

I have two sets of twins and two singles. And I met Holly as a twin and her sister Greta and they all the way from Sydney. So I painted a boat each for them two!

Thepa kuka (Little bird)

When we go picnic day, swimming for the day, we see the birds come down, looking for our scraps. But we mostly just give them breadcrumbs. And swimming we see all the little birds sitting down by the riverbank.
