Corals depths

The Coral Reef is beautiful and pure, however no one truely knows how far it goes. As we look from above, we would often find ourselves pondering about the depth and size of the reef, seeing multiple types of coral overlapping or sometimes even spliced together, layer after layer going further down into the road of curiosity.

I grew up with uncle Tommy Fuji together with his children on Thursday Island.. This lugger Boat called siomi was owned by uncle Tommy Fuji. This was my childhood memories.

Spider Shell Basket

walking out to a good fishing spot, as walking along we finding spider shells, colours on the basket basket shows the wonderful colours of the shell where i found it.

 

Art Centre notes: 

The basket / bag is made of natural raffia / cotton / jute / sea chord / seeds / shells.

It is made using a traditional ‘one twist’ method. It has a thin / thick plaited strap. The strap is closed at the end. It has long tassels above.

The dyes are commercial and colour fast. 

Size of bowl:  16 x 10cm

Length of strap: 11cm

Cone shell basket from a far away place, Colours on basket show different colour of travel from a far.

Mussel Shell Basket

Mussel shells are not easily found, you would have to look for the dark purple corner part of shell sticking out. i like the purple colour.

Silel Basket

watching the low tide to go looking for Silel on the beach, beautiful evening for a walk about.
